KTM company visit

As you already know; R.S.P. Mountainbike Team is going to ride on a KTM bike next season. Joost and Slavik went to the KTM factory in Austria to take a look...

A couple of weeks ago Tomas Slavik and I went to the KTM factory in Austria. As the whole R.S.P. team is going to race on KTM next year it was time for a visit to discuss the new Four Cross frame for 2010.

KTM Bicycles is located next to KTM Motorcycles. On the outside it looks like one big company, but it's not. KTM Bicycles is independent and has no ties to the motorcycles-branch.

Tomas and I were invited to take a tour through the whole factory. From design to the place where all the bikes are boxed for shipment. It was a suprise for me that KTM is doing almost everything under their own roof, like:

- construction of the wheels
- they have an own paint-unit
- they have their own testing labratory (to test the bikes on strenght)

To be honest, the first time I heard that we were going to work together with KTM I thought it was a small company who did not really knew what MTB racing was about. But I was dead wrong! These guys are big and know exactly what they are doing. They are open for advice coming from their factory-riders. So we can help them to improve their products.
 
Make sure to take a look in our team-pit during the races to check out the brand new KTM Four Cross machines. As soon as my bike is 100% ready I will show some sneakpics on my website.
