Nissan World Cup 4 in Fort William; review

Fastest qualifier, but...

Since 2002 the World Cup series have a stop in the Highlands of Scotland. Fort William is always one of the best stops of the year, good organisation and a big, crazy crowd. On friday during the qualification run there was already a huge crowd to motivate the riders.

During the whole weekend I wasn’t feeling strong, so I was very surprised that I turned out to be the fastest qualifier of the day. For the first time in my carreer I going to ride a World Cup race with the number 1 plate!

Saterday it was raceday, I still had a kind of funny feeling. Somehow I had the feeling I had no power coming out of my legs. Unfortunately this feeling seemed to be true...after winning the first two rounds I went out in the ¼ finals. That puts you back on your feet after winning the last World Cup in Andorra!

I have to be honest, the other guys were stronger then me on the first straight this weekend. But I will be back, stonger then ever, in Maribor!

I want to thank my team R.S.P., my mechanic Jason and all the other persons for all the work they have done the past races. Can not do it without you!

Joost
