| World Cup Four Cross 4 in Leogang: a preview |
|
This weekend all the top Four Cross riders are to be found in Leogang, Austria, for the 4th round of the World Cup Four Cross 2010. It's a new venue, replacing Schladming. Normally this World Cup round would take place in Schladming. But because of the allocation of the World Championships Skiing, and the incidental preperations for that event, Schladming wasn't ready to welcome the mountainbikers.Bikepark Leogang went to the UCI and offered to host the 4th round of the World Cup Four Cross and Downhill. The UCI was very pleased with that gesture and they reward it with a place on the calendar in 2011 as well. It's going to be a nice warm-up to the Out of Bounds Festival, a week later. German Four Cross rider Guido Tschugg made some adjustments to the Four Cross track in the bikepark, to make it more technical and a bit steeper. In other words, it's different to the BMX-style Four Cross tracks we've seen this year so far. Leogang has no World Cup history but here's a promo-video of the park: If you don't want to miss a thing, check the UCI website on friday (1830) to follow the qualifications with live-timing. The finals on saturday are starting at 1900. You can watch them on Freecaster.tv. More info about Bikepark Leogang or World Cup 4?
