World Cup Four Cross 5 in Val di Sole: 6th place

Dust, dust, dust in Val di Sole. Joost took 6th place, finishing second in the small final. He was eliminated in a difficult semi final against Graves and Prokop. Rinderknecht took the win in the big final.

The loose soil caused some great action on the fast Italian track. Rinderknecht was on fire this weekend, fastest in qualification and cruising to the final. In the final he was up to Graves, Prokop and Slavik. Graves got pushed to the outside and lost all his speed in the second turn. Slavik was good but he couldn't pass Rinderknecht.

Wichman did pretty well in Val di Sole, but his below standards qualification put him in the difficult part of the schedule. He was up against big names quit soon and because he was seeded 7th he couldn't pick the best lanes. World Cup 5 ended in the semi finals.

1/16 finals
No suprises here. Except Saladini who didn't start after he was injured in practice.

1/8 finals
Marosi out! He didn't make it in a heat against Rinderknecht and the suprisingly strong Magis from Belgium. Marosi unclipped and wasn't able to recover from that misfortune. Slavik and Wichman went through easy.

1/4 finals
The first difficult heat for Joost, against Graves, Muhlhans and Riha. Joost and Graves both had a good start and made it a smooth ride, reducing the risks. Slavik looked very strong in his heat. Without any trouble he made it to the semi-finals.

1/2 finals
Three big names in one semi-final. Joost knew it was going to be difficult, because Graves and Prokop had the inside lanes. He planned to make a move in the lower part of the track. An all or nothing effort but Prokop managed to maintain second place. No final for Wichman. In the other semi-final Rinderknecht and Slavik could cruise towards the finishline. Fischbach and Derbier fell in the second turn.
