World Cup Four Cross 5 in Val di Sole: preview

Let's take a look at what the weekend will bring. A lot of action, that's for sure. Val di Sole will be the host for over 850 mountainbikers during this triple World Cup event.

It's been a while. In 2008 Val di Sole (Northern Italy) was the venue of the World Championships MTB but after that it was a bit silent around this place. This year it's back, hosting round 5 of the World Cup 2010, with all three disciplines.

The Four Cross track is mainly the same as in 2008. Designed by Phil Saxena and according to the UCI website it's been improved and can be considered as one of the most technical tracks of this years series. The preliminary startlist contains almost 100 names and no suprises. Ofcourse the red and white RSP army is present as well.

Joost took of on wednesday, feeling ok, although a dental problem caused some restless days. It looks like it's going to be hot this weekend. The track is dry at this moment, maybe a bit of rain will drop but 28 degrees is expected.

If you don't want to miss a thing, you can follow the qualifications with live-timing on the UCI website, this friday at 1830. The finals will be broadcasted live by Freecaster.tv, it starts at 1900. Joostwichman.com will keep you informed!
