Joost went to the Czech Republic to defend his lead during the final round of the Euro 4X Series. But a crash ended his aspirations. He had to go to the hospital with a serious shoulder injury.

Not the way he wanted to end his season. The overall win in the Euro 4X Series would have been a nice addition to his bronze medal at the Worlds.

Teammate Tomas Slavik won the 2011 series, after finishing 4th in the big final. Stasek won.
