Joost is in the Czech Republic at this moment, preparing for next season with teammate Tomas 'Air Guitar' Slavik. Here is an update...

At this moment I'm in the Czech Republic, in the city of Brno. This is where my teammate Tomas Slavik lives.

When all the members of the Dutch National BMX Team decided to get ready for next season in warm and sunny South Africa, I decided tot go low budget and hardcore. I drove to the Czech Republic.I have been here for 4 days now and it's pretty Czech style...

After we did some gym in the morning (I had to puke after this training...) and endurance training in the afternoon, Tomas wanted to show me Brno. So we headed into town.

You can not imagine how many policemen are on the streets here. When we went back tot the house we got pulled over by one of them. He said we came out of a 'closed street'. But we didn't. At first we had to pay a fine of 3000 koruna (Czech money) but at the end the amount had dropped to a 1000... Still a stupid thing, considering we didn't do anything wrong. Strange people...

Slavik's house is very big and old. I think it's haunted... Tomas told me some creapy shit about the place. I do not like it! The house has a big big basement, like some kind of cave, with al kinds of corridors. During the night you hear al kind of noises...

In Brno there are not many BMX and 4X riders, but they have 2 very nice BMX tracks and a nice MTB dh/dual trail. Unfortunately the weather sucks so not much riding on these tracks. Yesterday we went to Slovakia where we could get some gates done and did some riding at an indoor 4X track. A very nice trainingspot during the winter!
